CHESAPEAKE SPORT PILOT NAMED OUTSTANDING FLIGHT SCHOOL BY AOPA

Tavares, Florida, October 6, 2014 — Chesapeake Sport Pilot, a Searey approved flight school, has been named an outstanding flight school by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA). The AOPA has awarded its third annual Flight Training Excellence Awards to top flight schools and flight instructors ranked by more than 3,600 flight students who voluntarily reviewed their flight training experience through an AOPA online poll.

“All of us at AOPA would like to extend our heartfelt congratulations to this year’s award winners,” said Brittney Miculka, Senior Manager of pilot community development. “We created these awards to recognize those who instill a lifelong passion for aviation among their students and who exemplify the best the flight training industry has to offer. It was clear from the customer reviews that these professionals are providing a superior flight instruction experience.”

The award winners were recognized at the AOPA Homecoming Fly-in in Frederick, Maryland, on Saturday, October 4, 2014.

With over eight years in the field and 20,000 hours flown, Chesapeake Sport Pilot is one of the largest and most successful light sport flight schools in the country. Since 2009, Chesapeake Sport Pilot’s two qualified instructors have been training students to fly Searey amphibious airplanes using a certified Searey training program.

Chesapeake Searey offers seaplane ratings, tail wheel endorsements, and training. Chesapeake Searey instructors are all accredited through the Searey Flight Instructors Association. Graduates of Chesapeake Searey receive an insurance certificate which makes them eligible for special insurance rates with select underwriters.

Searey Amphibious Light Sport Airplanes are manufactured by Progressive Aerodyne, Inc., located in Tavares, Florida. The company first began as a family business in 1992 manufacturing Searey Kit Airplanes.
